CPA with Tax Experience for Small Business Clients

Position: CPA with In-depth Tax experience

Location: Mississauga, Ontario

Responsibilities:

1. Client-Centric Services: Provide personalized accounting, bookkeeping, and tax planning services tailored to the unique needs of our small business clients. Be responsible for identifying and resolving engagement issues. Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, offering expert advice and solutions to meet their unique financial needs.

2. Tax Planning and Compliance: Lead strategic tax planning initiatives and ensure compliance with all relevant tax regulations for our small entrepreneurial business clients. Oversee and review personal and corporate income tax returns, Notice to Reader financial statements, and other routine tax filings. Manage workflow including research and preparing internal tax memos, year-end files, and communicating with CRA.

3. Financial Digitization and Automation: Address the growing demand for digitization and automated bookkeeping services, particularly utilizing QuickBooks Online (QBO), QuickBooks Online Payroll, FreshBooks, Dext, Plooto.

4. Financial Analysis: Conduct in-depth financial analysis to identify opportunities for tax optimization and provide strategic recommendations to clients.

5. Professional Development Stay informed about the latest trends in accounting, taxation, and digital tools, actively pursuing professional development opportunities to enhance expertise.

6. Collaboration: Work collaboratively with the team to deliver seamless and holistic financial solutions to our entrepreneurial clients and contribute to the overall success of the firm.

Qualifications:

1. CPA Certification: Must be a Certified Public Accountant with minimum 3 years public accounting firm experience.

2. Tax Expertise: In-depth tax preferred. Strong corporate and personal taxation knowledge with experience in tax planning and compliance, particularly with a focus on small business clients.

7. Digitization Skills: Proficiency in QBO, QuickBooks Online Payroll and FreshBooks, Dext, Plooto is preferable. Experience in supporting clients with digitization and automated bookkeeping.

3. Client-Focused: Proven ability to build and maintain strong client relationships, with a customer-centric approach. Strong understanding of a client-focused environment including related deadlines and the ability to work to meet those deadlines. Sound judgment regarding confidential and sensitive matters.

5. Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex tax and financial concepts to clients in a clear and understandable manner.

7. Software Skills: Be adaptable to learning new technologies and processes to help improve efficiency and provide a better user experience for our clients. Skilled with Caseware, TaxPrep, Microsoft (Word, Excel, etc.), and CRA Online Services.
